Disney Dash 5K
Hello Disney families!
Please join us this April 15th - June 15th in the Disney Magnet Dash virtual 5K (parent and sibling involvement is encouraged)! The virtual 5K can be completed in your house or any outside location where you can exercise safe social distancing. (See attached videos below if you’d like to jog in place through some scenic routes).
If you choose to participate, feel free to use the 5k tracker & print out your certificate of completion, signed by Dr. Riskus. 😀
Students can use this optional opportunity to:
1. Stay active and stay healthy.
2. Apply math skills. See attached worksheet. 12.5 laps around a track equals a 5K. We can’t wait to hear stories and see pictures of how students completed their 5k. This does not have to be completed in one day. Feel free to work through the entire distance in one day or throughout the week. A tracker is provided below.
3. Have fun!
If you don’t want to run around the house or go outside - here are some virtual scenic routes you can jog/walk in place to. Youtube has plenty more too. On average, give yourself a quarter mile for every 3 minutes jogging or a quarter mile for every five minutes walking.
