The O'Neill family: Mr. O'Neill, Mrs. O'Neill, Connor, and Sophie

Hello all!

I'm Mr. O'Neill. I'm married and I have two beautiful children, Connor and Sophie. We enjoy spending time at the neighborhood parks and museums.

This will be my fifteenth year working in some capacity as a physical educator. In addition to teaching, I've also spent a few years contributing as a Dean/Director of Student Support.

Growing up in athletics, I was lucky to learn the important lesson early on that the greatest competition is the never ending test to be your personal best in all walks of life. I'm still on the mission each day to be my physical, intellectual, social/emotional, and spiritual best. It is a tremendous privilege to work alongside students, helping them navigate what it means to become their best too. I believe physical education is seamlessly connected to each student's journey to be their best. “You can't educate a child who isn't healthy, and you can't keep a child healthy who isn't educated.” — Dr. Joycelyn Elders, former US Surgeon General

Though I love participating in just about any activity, running and soccer are the two sports I'm involved with most. One of my favorite activities is having my son Connor bike, while I push Sophie in the jogging stroller along the lakeshore. This year I'm looking to enter some of the many festive races Chicago has to offer. In addition to running, I also enjoy watching Detroit's professional sports teams live or on television (even the long suffering Lions)!

I am enthusiastic about all this year holds at Disney. I know it will be another amazing year for students.
